Monster High- Draculaura Monster Exchange

Monster High Draculaura Doll Exchange Shibooya Japan Sayoara
Whilst I've been collecting Ever After High dolls since they first came out, I must confess this is my first Monster High purchase. They're beautiful dolls though and I've got a list of ones I'd like to find in charity shops or at a car boot sale, but so far haven't had any luck.
Then one day I chanced upon the Draculaura (daughter of Dracula) Monster Exchange doll on eBay and knew I had to get her! I love the influence of traditional Japanese fashion in her outfit, and the fact her trip was to Shibooya completely won me over! The best price I found at the time was £16.99 in Argos as opposed to around £22 in the supermarkets, but she's actually now down to £12.99 in Argos though it's remnant stock so not all stores have her. They've actually got some fantastic prices in both the Monster High and Ever After High ranges at the moment so it's well worth taking a look.

A Charity Shop Haul- No.1

As much as I love buying new ponies, nothing delights me more as a collector than finding and rescuing second hand ones which have been "abandoned". As such, I do love a regular treasure hunt round my local charity shops. The chances of finding something aren't all that great, but that makes it all the more thrilling when I do.
This week's trek round the town started off in the usual manner, with nothing quite right, not a pony in sight. Then half way round I found Elizabeth Gaskell's Cranford, a book I've been wanting to read, followed by a small pile of lovely clothes in the next shop. Then what did I spy through the window of the last store but a basket of ponies sitting on the counter! I'd have been happy with one, but 14 was so very exciting! In fact, it's more than I found in total last year! There's a fair bit of frizz to be fought, but I'll see what magic a spa day can work, and some might be candidates for custom rehairs.

Well it's been a long while since I've had an advent calendar, but this one was too cute to resist and also a bargain from a 99p store (I've also seen them in Matalan). I'm sure my childhood ones had a supersize chocolate for Christmas day itself, but this one only goes up to 24th. It does make up for it with a cut out Princess Twilight Sparkle crown on the back though. I've just made a Twitter account (@little_carousel), so I'll be sharing my chocolates daily on there.

EDIT- I just noticed the typo in my watermark- oops! =S

Hello!

Hello and welcome to My Little Carousel blog! The name comes from my love of both carousels and My Little Pony. I’ll be featuring my collecting and crafting antics, from trawling car boot sales for retro toys to reviews and customisation projects. My other interests include Hello Kitty and Sanrio characters, animes including Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, PuriPara, Digimon and Pokemon, Lalaloopsy dolls, Ever After High, Sky Dancers, Polly Pockets and Sylvanian Families.

I thought I’d start with my very favourite My Little Pony. Whilst I’m a tad obsessed with G3 and G4 Pinkie Pie, G1 Flower Bouquet wins prize place in my collection. For starters she’s one of the year 7 Merry Go Round Ponies, then I’m a bit of a floral obsessive and her pastel colour palette is just so pretty. Mine’s not perfect, but I was really pleased to find one with properly pink, factory curl hair, and will be keeping her out of sunlight so she stays just as lovely as she arrived.
